Membership was suspended by the MCA indefinitely (but was later on shortened to 10 months from December 2002 to October 2003) over his abstention vote in the Penang State Assembly in respect of DAP’s motion to suspend the PORR Project
Lost in the Bukit Gelugor Parliamentary seat in 2004
