When Some Chung Ling Old Boys of Group 1973 Met

Friday, September 25th, 2009

By the Administrator

Lately, through the kind invitation of Ah Thai, some of our old boys of Chung Ling who graduated in 1973 met at our peer Ong Choon Huat’s Chin Bee Tea House to exchange our life experiences, it was solely an ad hoc private gathering as nothing could bother us…

No school song but they were still standing very straight for my hand-phone camera

THE MCA SAGA

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

By the Administrator

With the impending MCA EGM fixed for Oct 10, the MCA Saga took a new twist of events by the Central Committee changing the Presidential Council’s decision of sacking Chua Soi Lek to one of suspension of his membership for 4 years.

This latest move has been seen as measure to preempt the outcome of the EGM which is one of, among other things, to reinstate Chua as a member. The argument by the President Ong Tee Keat would then be that the resolutions are irrelevant and more importantly, it could not save Chua from the suspension of the 4 years period, one that has effectively excluded him to contest for any post in the next Party election.

None of the MCA EGM’s resolutions have anything to do with the rakyat, as it is basically a power struggle between the old guards and the young turks. Thus the Chinese community, in particular, were not bothered about this narrow-minded party squabbles.

There were MCA leaders openly calling for the intervention by UMNO leaders, bearing in mind that once the late Gafa Baba, the then UMNO No.2,  was the MCA’s chairman during the Neo-Tan factional infighting. But even Samy Vellu could handle his own party affairs, it is a shame that MCA have to be everything ‘cow-towing’ (subservient) to UMNO.

There may be more legal battles after this round of EGM fight, as MCA was known to have EGM’s after EGM’s during their previous party internal splits, and also a protracted legal battles.

As the popular saying goes, the people who wins in a party election may well lose in the general election, as ultimately it is the rakyat who decides!

槟城嘎档巴佛教会开发佛性步向成佛之路-灌顶

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

PENANG PKR STARTS ITS OWN KPI ASSESSMENT SYSETEM

Monday, September 7th, 2009

By the Administrator

At the Parti KeADILan Rakyat Penang State Leadership meeting yesterday which was chaired by YB Dato Seri Zahrain Mohd Hashim, a new KPI monitoring system of the performance of the party’s  people’s representatives in the state, which include all the Members of Parliament, State Assembly, and the two local councils, has been set up with a unanimous decision.

YB Dato Abdul Halim, the Penang Dewan’s Speaker, was appointed to head a Committee to steer the matter.

It is hoped that with the new system, all the people’s representatives will perform better to meet up with the expectation of the electorates, so that PKR could not only maintain their present seats, but to win back its lost seats and grow stronger.

The candidates of the last elections won, it was generally agreed, not own their won merits, but much to do with the people’s dissatisfaction and disappointment of BN’s 50 years ruling, with rampant corruption, abuse of power, which benefit a few cronies ultimately. Now that these candidates are now wakil rakyat, they are expected to deliver and to perform and the party will monitor all these before making the recommendation of their chances of seeking re-elections.

As YB Abdul Halim is not an elected people’s representative, he was thought to be the best person to do the job with impartiality and neutrality. And the KPI system will be something scientific and ojective which will do a good job to reduce any unnecessary grouses.
